The court sanctioned the compounding of the offence under S. 320 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, leading to the acquittal of the accused.

Headnote:

COMPOUNDING - Criminal Procedure - The court allowed the application for compounding of the offence under S. 320 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, acquitting the accused of the charges.

( 1 ) IN this appeal the complainants have filed application for permission to compound the offence. The complainants also have appeared before us personally and have stated that they have compromised the matter and have received compensation and no is now left in their hearts against the appellant. Counsel for the State also has no objection to the offence being compounded. We therefore allow the application and sanction the compounding of the offence under S. 320 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The appeal is accordingly allowed and the accused acquitted of the charges framed against him.
