For running these temporary night shelters, grant-in-aid amount of 70 lakhs was released during 2010-11. It is further submitted that due to the non- occupancy and because of shifting of inmates to permanent night shelters having better facilities, as on date, only 19 temporary night shelters are functional. Temporary night shelters are being operated by NGOs under the supervision of the mother NGO, the St. Stephens Hospital for homeless people.
2. DUSIB is implementing an approved Plan Scheme namely, "Construction, Management and Maintenance of Shelters" in Delhi for which the funds are being provided annually by Government of NCT of Delhi.
