( 1 ) THE petitioners herein, twelve in number, challenge the orders of the 1st respondent dated 13-7-1977 refusing to confirm the sale of the lands in S. Nos. 248, 249, 293 and 310 situate in Bhupalapalli village and of the land in No. 7 situate in jangaid village of Patkal Taluk, Waranga| district.

( 2 ) THE facts giving rise to this writ petition are as follows :-One sri. G. Venkata Mutyam Rao who was a pattadar of the lands in Bhupalapalli and jangaid villages became a defaulter in payment of Land revenue to the extent of Rs. 5,515-19 Ps. Certain extents of land in S. Nos. 248, 249, 293 and 310 of Bhupalapalli village and the land in S. No. 7 of jangaid village belonging to him were attached under the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Revenue Recovery Act on 24-12-1970 and were brought to sale by public auction by the Tahsildar, Parkal on 28-5-1973. Different extents of land were purchased by the petitioners herein as mentioned below :
