This appeal is filed by the sole accused in Sessions Case No.318 of 2007 on the file of the Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Cyberabad, N.T.R. Nagar, Hyderabad, whereby he was convicted for the offences punishable under Sections 302 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sentenced to undergo imprisonment for life, and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) and in default of payment of fine, to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable under Section 302 IPC; and to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) and in default of payment of fine, to suffer simple imprisonment for one month for the offence punishable under Section 379 IPC. Both the sentences were directed to run concurrently. The appellant was, however, acquitted of the charge under Section 376 IPC.
