ORDER :
The petitioners seek a writ of mandamus against the 2nd respondent/Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) with a lengthy prayer, the substance of which is that the 2nd respondent while offering 4 year B.Tech courses in CSE [Artificial Intelligence (A.I) & Machine Learning (M.L)]/CSE (Data Science), instead of showing A.I, M.L & Data Science as optional/elective specializations with additional 18 to 20 credits to enable the students to obtain B.Tech (Hons) CSE degree, unjustly included those optional/elective specialised subjects in the B.Tech (CSE) core course for 160 credits which is contrary to the AICTE (Grant of Approvals for Technical Institutions) (1st Amendment) Regulations, 2021 (for short, ‘the AICTE Regulations’) dated 24.02.2021 r/w clause 7.3.2 of the Approval Process Hand Book (APHB) 2021-22 and to declare as such.
