Headnote:MOTOR VEHICLES ACT, 1988 - Section 168: [Mohan Shantanagoudar, J] Compensation - Death of a minor, aged 13 years - Claim petition by his legal representatives - Award of Rs.1,51,500/-as compensation - Appeal against - Held, As per the decision in Manju Deve & anr. v Musafer Paswan & anr. [2005 ACJ 99 (SC)], for the death of the boy aged about 13 years claimants are entitled for Rs. 2,25,000/-as compensation. Further, various High Courts, nation wide by following the judgment in "Manjudevi’s case" have been awarding compensation of Rs.2,25,000/- for the death of the children aged 10 to 15 years. Hence, the compensation is enhanced as per the ruling in Manjudevi’s case.
