The learned Additional Sessions Judge acquitted the original accused Nos. 1, 2 and 3 of all the offences with which they stood charged but as far as original accused No. 4 i e. the present appellant is concerned, the learned Additional Sessions Judge convicted him for having committed an offence punishable under section 3 read with section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act. The accused was sentenced to one day's simple imprisonment till the rising of the Court and to pay a fine of Rs. 1,000/- in default, R.I. for three months. It is against this order of conviction and sentence that the present appeal has been preferred.
