Section 57 of the Act prescribes that if a person has been convicted under clause (a) of Section 12-A of the Bombay Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887, the District Magistrate, if he has reason to believe that such person is likely again to engage himself in the commission of an offence similar to that for which he was convicted, may order externment of such person. It is obvious that it is not the mere conviction but further satisfaction of the authority that the person in likely again to engage him in the commission of identical offences.
