Bombay High Court
Satrupi Tolaram Mirchandani
Versus
Coroner of Greater Bombay
Decided On:

Headnote:CORONERS ACT, 1871

Section 8-A-Complaint by wife of deceased - Inquiry into death by Coroner-Inquest-Circumstances justifying inquest-Held, circumstances must justify for inquest and not on mere which or fancy-Inquest held illegal.

The corner must reason to believe that circumstances justifying an inquent exist. This reason to believe must have an objective basis. It cannot be just a whinier fancy nor can the belief be based merely on the complaint of the wife of the deceased who was not on good terms with her deceased husband and his relatives and who has other motives for selling up an inquest and that too more than a year after the death of her husband.
