JUDGMENT:- This appeal is directed against the judgment of the learned I Additional Sessions Judge, Ranga Reddy District, Saroornagar. Hyderabad, in C.C. No.33 of 1996, dated 27-2-1998, whereby the appellant/AI was convicted of the offences punishable under Section 3(1)(x) of the S.C. and S.T. (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 (for brevity 'the Act') read with Section 323 of the Indian Penal Code (for brevity 'IPC') and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months and to pay a fine of Rs.500/-, in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of one month. A-2 to A-4 were also convicted of the offence under Section 323, IPC and sentenced to pay a fine of Rs.500/-, in default to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of one month.

2. The case of the prosecution in brief, is that A-I is the son. A-3 is the wife and, A4 is the sister of one Yellaiah. A-2 is the mother of A-3. All the accused and the de facto-complainant, who was examined as P.W.1, are all residents of Peddemul Village.
