Courts have the authority to correct typographical errors in judgments with the consent of the parties.

Oral Order

1. Matter has been listed today as the office has pointed out inadvertent error in the heading printed in the judgment dated 21.05.2021. "21.07.2021" has wrongly been printed in the header of the judgment in place of "21.05.2021", which is the correct date of the judgment.

2. All the parties have appeared through virtual mode and certain other inadvertent typographical errors have also been pointed out by the parties. The same are as follows:-

(i) Mr. Binod Singh, Counsel, has appeared on behalf of Respondent Nos. 17 to 20 but the same has wrongly been mentioned as Respondent Nos. 14 to 17.

Mr. Piyus Lall, Advocate represented Respondent No. 15, which has wrongly been typed as Respondent No. 18.

Learned Senior Counsel Mr. Y. V. Giri has represented Respondent No. 16, which has wrongly been typed as Respondent No. 19. These are the errors of inadvertence in the appearances mentioned at page 2 of the judgment dated 21.05.2021.

(ii) The date of notification (Annexure 23) at para 8 of the judgment dated 21.05.2021 has wrongly been typed as 01.07.2020 instead of 01.06.2020.

3. At page 16 of the judgment the date of notification at Annexure 23 has been typed as 01.06.200 in stead of 01.06.2020.

(iii) While going through the judgment today this Court would notice another inadvertent typographical error at page 36 of the judgment dated 21.05.2021, where, in the fourth line of the first paragraph "Commissioner of Customs (Import), Mumbai", (ibid) has been typed due to typographical error.

4. The above noted typographical errors of inadvertence are not denied or disputed by the parties who are present. With agreement of the parties this Court would direct the following corrections :-

(i) The date wrongly printed as 21.07.2021 on the header of the judgment dated 21.05.2021 be read as 21.05.2021.

(ii) In the Appearance column the name of:

* Mr. Binod Singh, Advocate be read as Counsel for respondent Nos. 17 to 20.

* Mr. Piyush Lall, Advocate be read as Counsel for respondent No. 15.

* Mr. Y. V. Giri, learned Senior Counsel's name be read as Counsel for respondent No. 16.

(iii) The date of notification (Annexure 23) at paragraph 8 and at page 16 of the judgment dated 21.05.2021 which has wrongly been written as 01.07.2020 and 01.06.200 be read as 21.06.2020 at both places.

(iv) In the fourth line of the first paragraph at page 36 of judgment dated 21.05.2021, "Commissioner of Customs (Import), Mumbai, (ibid) has been typed inadvertently and the same be read as Commissioner of Customs (Import), Mumbai, (supra).

5. Accordingly, with consent of all the parties present through virtual mode, order dated 21.05.2021 stands modified/corrected.
