( 1 ) THIS is a petition for issue of a writ of habeas corpus as also for quashing the order of detention dated 28th June, 1982.

( 2 ) THE petitioner, Mohd. Khalil, was ordered to be detained on 6th February 1981 by the Commissioner of Police under the National Security Act, 1980 (to bs refered to in short as N. S. A. 1980 ). He was, in fact, detained as a result of that order an 20th June, 1981. However, as the Advisory Board was of the opinion that the grounds of detention were not sufficient and did not approve of the above mentioned detention order, the Administrator revoked the detention order on 5th August, 1981.

( 3 ) SUBSEQUENTLY, on 31st May 1982, the Commissioner of Police passed another detention order under N. S. A. 1980. This order was not approved by the Administrator and the detention order was revoked on 10th June 1982, without being executed.

( 4 ) THEREAFTER, on 28th June, 1982, the impugned detention order was passed. It was passed by Mr. S. Lal, the Commissioner of Police under section 3 (2), of the N. S. A. 1980.
