1. The present revision petition has been filed by the petitioner under Section 397 read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (hereinafter shall be referred to as the “Cr.P.C.”) against the order dated 20.01.2016 passed by the learned Principal Judge, Family Courts, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi in a maintenance petition filed by the respondent-herein vide which the petitioner has been directed to pay a sum of Rs.2500/- per month as ad interim maintenance to the respondent-herein.
2. The factual matrix, in brief, is that the respondent-herein had filed a petition under Section 125 of the Cr.P.C. against the petitioner-herein for the grant of maintenance. It was alleged in the maintenance petition that the marriage of the parties was solemnized on 13.02.2011 according to Hindu rites and ceremonies. After marriage, the respondent-wife joined the matrimonial home. The mother of the respondent-wife spent a sum of Rs.3,50,000/- in the marriage including the gifts and other articles.
