Dr. R.N. Panigrahi, Member—This is a dispute arising out of non-provision of return facilities by a Romanian Air transport from London even though the tickets were purchased in advance for the return trip.
2. Complainant purchased two Air tickets from the Opposite Party No. 2 at Bhubaneswar bearing Nos. 2814290434780 and 2814290434781 at a cost of Rs. 11,749/- each. The tickets were confirmed for onward journey on 22nd July and returned on 9th August.
While at London, complainant wanted to confirm the return tickets as required and tried to contact TAROM’s Office at London over telephone and there was no reply, he went to that place, found the office closed and he was informed by some other travel agencies that the TAROM’s Office has been closed and was also informed that the complainant should contact the British Airways on the TAROM’s Office based at London is under liquidation. Accordingly, the complainant contacted the British Airways who told him that there was no certainty of the TAROM’s flight from London and that they cannot obliged him to travel on TAROM’s ticket.
