Mrs. Devinderjit Dhatt, Member—This appeal has been filed against the order dated 2.8.2004 of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-II, U.T., Chandigarh passed in Complaint Case No. 428 of 2003.
2. The contextual facts in brief are as under:
The appellant filed the complaint alleging deficiency in service provided by the respondents/O.Ps. on the ground of not getting confirmed tickets for him on the scheduled date i.e., 19.12.2002. The appellant has also alleged that on 8.12.2002 though the tickets were not given, he was asked to pay Rs. 49,000/- and his itinerary, flight number, seat number etc. from Bangkok onwards were confirmed to him on phone and he was informed that confirmation for Delhi to Bangkok sector would be given by 19.12.2002. The appellant allegedly received a phone call from respondent No. 1 on 19.12.2002 at 11.00 p.m. conveying confirmation of his reservation from New Delhi to Bangkok. However on the same day i.e., 19.12.2002 at 8.00 p.m. he was told that his entire booking has been cancelled and on being contacted the respondents/O.Ps. told him that problem occurred due to delay on the part of appellant in confirming his final dates.
