ORDER

Mrs. Basanti Devi, Member—This is an appeal by appellant No. 1 Postmaster, Head Post Office, Kendrapara and appellant No. 2 Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Cuttack being aggrieved by the order dated 30.11.1996 of the District Forum, Kendrapara in C.D. Case No. 244 of 1996 awarding a compensation of Rs. 4,000 to be paid by appellant No. 1 and Rs. 1,000 by appellant No. 2 along with cost of Rs. 200 to be paid by appellant No. 1 and Rs. 100 to be paid by appellant No. 2.

2. The admitted facts of the case are as follows:

The respondent Sri Basanta Sahoo was the complainant who had filed the C.D. Case No. 244 of 1996 against the appellants and two others. Appellant No. 1 was the opposite party No. 1 and appellant No. 2 was the opposite party No. 2, Principal, Ravenshaw College was opposite party No. 3 and Post Master, College Square Post Office, Cuttack was the opposite party No. 4. The respondent/complainant being selected by the Principal, Ravenshaw College to take admission into P.G. Department of Economics was asked vide Principal’s letter dated 25.9.1996 to send the original documents by registered post to the Principal so as to take admission on or before 2.10.1996.
