JUDGMENT

S.S. Dewan, President. - This Petition is filed for condonation of delay of one year and four months in filing the appeal.

2. The District Forum, Jalandhar passed an order dated 25.4.1991 in Complaint No. 18-G/DF of 1991, directing the Telephone Department to recover Rs.160/- as balance from the bill of the disputed period and to charge Rs.100/- as Telephone Reconnection Fee and also awarded Rs.500/- as compensation to the complainant. Aggrieved by the order of the District Forum, Jalandhar, the Telephone Department filed review petition before the District Forum on 3.6.1991 and the same was dismissed by the Forum on 11.8.1992. Aggrieved by the said order, the Telephone Department filed an appeal before this Commission on 25.9.1992 alongwith a petition for condonation of delay. In the affidavit filed in support of the petition for condonation of delay, it has been stated that the time consumed in prosecuting the review petition before the District Forum under a bonafide belief may kindly be excluded and the delay in filing the appeal be condoned.
