JUDGMENT

G.G. Loney, President. In this complaint, the complainant has alleged negligence in the medical services of OPS and claimed compensation for the loss caused to him. IL is necessary to narrate the facts leading to the filing of this complaint. The complainant is a Jeweller having his business shop at Vasco-da-Cama - Goa. He is also a T.V. artist. The OP No. 1 is a full-fledged hospital being run by a trust. OP Nos. 2 & 3 are medical practitioners at Goa and are attached to OP No. 1 as honorary surgeons. OP No. 4 is a private medical practioner. OP No. 5 at the material time was in the employment of OP No.1 as Anaesthetist. OP No.6 is a Insurance Company who extended insurance cover to OP No.2 & 3.

2. On 21.2.1991, the complainant was involved in a road accident and was admitted in the hospital of OP No.1 as an emergency case. The complainant had suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital of OP No. 1 by his relatives and one Dr. Vinay Surlakar a family friend. The complainant was admitted in the hospital of OP No.1 by Dr. Satish Pednekar who was working there as Resident Medical Officer. The complainant was immediately examined by Dr. Satish Pednekar.
