Presiding Member—This is an appeal against the order of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-I, U.T., Chandigarh [hereinafter, referred to as District Forum-I, for short] dated 2.11.2004 in Complaint Case No.654 of 2003: Smt. Bhupinder Kaur v. Life Insu-rance Corporation of India & Anr.
The complainant’s case in short is that the husband of the Complainant (now deceased) got his life insured for a sum of Rs.l lac by taking a LIC Policy No. 162051850, dated 15.3.2001. The Life Assured [for short, referred to as LA] died on 26.9.2002. The complainant being the nominee of the LA lodged a claim with O.P No.l in the first week of Feb., 2003. The O.Ps. repudiated the claim vide their letter dated 31.3.2003 on the ground
that LA had concealed material information about his health at the time of
filling the proposal form. It is averred by the Complainant that at the time of filling up of the proposal form the LA was alright except minor illness, which a person suffers in due course of life and
