Gupta, President— This appeal has been directed by OP against order dated 3.7.2008 passed by Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-I, U.T., Chandigarh (for short hereinafter to be referred as District Consumer Forum) vide which complaint of the respondents was accepted and the appellants were directed to recalculate the loan account of the respondents and work out the correct amount of interest and other charges levied on them from the date of first EMI upto 9.7.2007, the date on which the full and final loan amount was paid and to make the payment of excess/difference amount to the respondents and further to give details of all calculations so made to the respondents and also to pay Rs. 30,000 as compensation for mental as well as physical harassment besides Rs. 2,500 as litigation expenses.

Briefly stated the facts are that the respondents (complainants) took loan of Rs. 13,20,000 for 20 years i.e. 240 months from the appellant on 31.3.2006 vide Annexures C1 & C2 for the purchase of House No.707, Sector 11, Ranjit Nagar, Tehsil Kharar, District Mohali.
