P.D. Shenoy, Member—Aggrieved by the order of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Maharashtra State dated 13th February 2008, in Appeal No. 1831 of 2002, dismissing their appeal, the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad. Jalgaon and others have filed this revision petition.

2. Complainant, Smt Sagunabai Chavan had decided to undergo Tubectomy operation and accordingly she approached the Government Hospital at Edlabad Taluka District Jalgaon on 31.1.1994, as she was having three children already. The surgery was performed by the Medical Officer, Rural Hospital Mukatainagar, District Jalgaon, under the supervision of District Health Officer, Zilla Parishad, Jalgaon. Even after the Tubectomy operation she became pregnant and delivered a female child on 17.1.2001 The complainant alleges that as she was working as a labourer she could not afford the financial burden by way of a 4th child and she was also deprived of the scheme of the Government. Accordingly, she approached the District Forum, claiming Rs. 5,00,000 as compensation.
