Mrs. Rekha Gupta, Member—Revision Petition no. 4780 of 2012 has been filed against the judgment dated 13.08.2012 of the Andhra Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Hyderabad (‘the State Commission’) in Appeal no. 1218 of 2010.
2. The facts of the case as per the petitioner/ complainant are that the petitioner took an individual medi-claim Policy (Policy no. 150300/48/06/20/00000028) on 21.04.2006. The policy was valid from 21.04.2006 to midnight of 20.04.2007. The policy was to cover the medical expenses of the petitioner to the extent of Rs.1,00,000/- and his sister Jhans Mahato aged 7 years to the extent of Rs.25,000/-.
3. The petitioner renewed the above-mentioned policy on 10.08.2007 and the same was effective from 10.08.2007 to 09.08.2008. Under this the renewed policy the medical expenses of the petitioner were covered to the extent of Rs.2,00,000/-, his mother Lilly’s medical expenses to the extent of Rs.50,000/- and his sister’s medical expenses to the extent of Rs.50,000/-.
