Mrs. Rekha Gupta, Member—Revision petition no. 3778 of 2012 has been filed against the order dated 29.11.2011 of the Chhattisgarh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Raipur (‘the State Commission’) in Appeal no. 213 of 2011.

2. The case of the respondents nos. 1 & 2/complainants before District Forum was that they were having Savings Bank Account with the Tribal Service Cooperative Society Maryadit, Vill. Kapu, Tah. Dharamjaigarh (hereinafter called the Cooperative Society) and they deposited some amount in different Fixed Deposit Schemes with the Cooperative Society. The FDs were to mature in the year 2006, 2007 and 2008 and the rate of interest in the case of two FDs, was 7.5% and in case of other three FDs, it was 10.50%. The allegation of respondents/ complainants before District Forum was that after maturity of the FDRs, they demanded on a number of occasion from the Cooperative Society the maturity amount with interest, but evasive replies were given by the Cooperative Society.
