This revision petition has been filed by Life Insurance Corporation of India against the order dated 28.11.2007 of the Rajasthan, State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, (in short ‘the State Commission’) wherein the appeal filed by the petitioner against the order dated 24.06.1996 of the District Forum, Consumer Protection, Udaipur (in short the ‘District Forum’) was dismissed.
2. Brief facts of the case are that husband of the complainant Mr. Ratan Singh Chauhan took a life insurance policy for Rs.3,00,000/- effective from 29.3.1990 for which proposal form was filled on 30.03.1990. Before this, he had taken other policies of Rs.50,000/- and Rs.1,00,000/- for which the proposal forms were filled on 13.3.1990. However, Mr. Ratan Singh Chauhan died on 15.4.1990. The petitioner had already paid insured amount for two policies of Rs.1,00,000/- and Rs.50,000/-. However, in respect of the payment of 3rd policy for Rs.3,00,000/-, the claim was repudiated on the ground that the insured had concealed the material information of having two earlier policies. After repudiation, the complaint case was filed before the District Forum and the District Forum vide its order dated 24.06.19
