ORDER

Rekha Gupta, Presiding Member—The present revision petition has been filed against the judgment dated 02.03.2012 of the West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Kolkata (‘the State Commission’) in SC Case no. FA/377/2011.

2. The brief facts of the case as per the petitioner/ complainant are that the petitioner invested more than Rs.1.00 crore with the respondent ICICI insurance company and in the process paid a premium of Rs.1.05 crore in three instalments of Rs.35 lakh each. According to the petitioner, as the respondent/ insurance company was not providing the assured sum of return, the petitioner decided to redeem his policy and accordingly on 11.05.2009 informed the respondent/ insurance company about his intention to withdraw the amount so invested with the insurance company. It was the case of the petitioner that in spite of specific instruction to the insurance company about the petitioner’s intention to redeem the policy in question, the insurance company without any rhyme and reasons killed time for about 11 days and in the process, deprived the
