ORDER

Rekha Gupta, Presiding Member. - This Revision Petition No. 1751 of 2015 has been filed against the judgment dated 9.2.2015 of the West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Kolkata ('the State Commission') in Appeal No. 119 of 2013.

2. The facts of the case as per the respondent No. 1/complainant are that complainant, in the name of his son, Swapan Ray, purchased an insurance policy bearing No. U019321437 for a sum of Rs. 1,75,000 from the O.P. No. 1 /petitioner. The policy was issued on 8.8.2008. Subsequently, Swapan Ray assigned the policy in 'favour of the Complainant by executing necessary Deed of Assignment on 24.11.2008. Although the first annual renewal premium of Rs. 35,000 was paid, the complainant defaulted in paying the second renewal premium falling due on 8.8.2010 due to illness of his son, i.e., Swapan Ray. After the demise of his son, i.e., Swapan Ray on 18.10.2010, the Complainant requested petitioner /O.P. No. 1 to pay the death benefit in respect of the insurance policy. Petitioner vide its letter dated 11.8.2011 sent a cheque of Rs. 47,264.14 terming it as payment of Unit Value at the Bid Price on the next valuation date following the company
