ORDER

C.C. Pant, Member - This appeal is directed against the order dated 14.9.2006 passed by the District Forum, Udham Singh Nagar in Consumer Complaint No. 95/2004. Vide its order, the District Forum has partly allowed the complaint and has directed the opposite party No. 4 to complete the formalities in respect of the settlement of complainant's provident fund within 15 days from the date of order and to forward the documents to opposite party No. 1. The opposite party No. 4 has also been directed to pay to the complainant a sum of Rs. 1,000 towards the cost of litigation. The opposite party No. 1 has been directed to pay a sum of Rs. 39,905 to the complainant within a month.

2. The facts of the case, in brief, are that the complainant'shri Jamuna Prasad Pandey was an employee of the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pant Nagar opposite party No. 4. He served the University for 9 years, but the University did not provide him the benefit of the provident fund under the Employees Provident Fund Scheme managed by the Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Delhi opposite party No. 3 through the Regional Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner, Dehradun opposite
