ORDER

K. Sampath, President - The opposite party in O.P. No. 93/2001 on the file of District Forum, Dindigul is the appellant herein.

2. The case of the complainant was as follows : One Parvathy had taken Janatha Personal Accident Policy through Dollars India Cards Ltd. on 5.5.1999 for a sum of Rs. 1 lakh. The complainant was her son and nominee under the policy. The life assured died on 6.5.2000 due to snake bite. The complainant was asked to submit the necessary documents under the policy certificate. He had sent a letter with Claim Form, Policy Certificate, Death Certificate and Doctor Certificate on 20.7.2000. He was asked to send FIR, post-mortem Certificate on 28.7.2000. He failed to send those documents and, therefore, the claim was rejected. The complaint, therefore, came to be filed for a direction to the opposite party to pay a sum of Rs. 1 lakh with 18% interest, Rs. 50,000 for mental agony etc. As already noted, the opposite party rejected the claim on the ground that the necessary documents had not been sent. Further all snake bite persons would be taken to the Government Hospital for treatment and if that person died the same could be informed to the Police Station conc
