This is an appeal filed by the appellants/OP Nos. 1 and 2-National Insurance Co. Ltd. (hereinafter called ‘the appellants’) against the order dated 6.10.2008 of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Ferozepur (hereinafter called the ‘District Forum’) vide which the complaint of respondent No. 1 was accepted by the District Forum.

2. Brief facts of the case are that respondent No. 1 insured herself under Parivar Mediclaim Policy No. 40170/48/06/8500000216 for the period of 15.1.2007 to 14.1.2008 with the appellants. It was pleaded that she suddenly fell ill and approached Sanjivani Hospital on 26.3.2007 but she was not satisfied with the treatment of that hospital. Thereafter, she got her treatment from Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre Limited, New Delhi from 20.4.2007 to 23.4.2007. She made a request to the appellants to provide cashless facility for the treatment. The appellants informed the hospital to charge the amount from respondent No. 1 and thereafter, the appellants will settle the claim of respondent No. 1 on submission of the bills with the appellant.
