Aggrieved by the judgment and order dated 30.5.2000 passed by the Learned DCDRF, Kanpur Dehat in Complaint Case No.762 of 1999, the appellant Smt. Shakuntala Jakhodia has preferred the instant appeal on 2.9.2000 under Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (Act No.68 of 1986) on the ground that the impugned judgment and order is bad in the eye of law and therefore, cannot be allowed to sustain. It has been contended that the Forum below committed material irregularity and gross illegality in not properly exercising jurisdiction vested on it; and failed to appreciate the evidence on record and passed the judgment against all settled principles of law, natural justice and fair play. It has, therefore, been prayed that the judgment and order dated 30.5.2000 be set aside and the respondent be directed to pay the sum insured in the LIP in question along with interest and other consequential benefits.
