The appellants/opposite parties (hereinafter called “the opposite parties”) have filed the present appeal against the order dated 2.12.2013 passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Sangrur (hereinafter called “the District Forum”) in consumer complaint No. 216 dated 17.5.2012 vide which the complaint filed by the complainant was allowed with the direction to the Ops to pay to the complainant a sum of Rs. 1,00,000/- alongwith interest @ 9% p.a. from 20.3.2012 and Rs. 10,000/- consolidated amount of compensation and litigation expenses.

2. The complaint was filed by the complainant Indra Devi that her husband Ram Chander got himself insured from OP vide policy No. PB/932-U in the year 1988 and vide Policy No. PB-146437-CC and he was regularly paying the above said policies and he was examined by the Doctor before issuing the insurance policies. He was got admitted with DMC Hospital, Ludhiana on 14.10.2011 and discharged on 18.10.2011. He was again admitted there on 21.10.2011 and died on 23.10.2011.
