JUDGMENT :
Mr. Baldev Singh Sekhon, Member-This appeal has been filed by the appellants/opposite parties against the order dated 9.12.2010 passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Sangrur (in short “District Forum”), vide which the complaint of the respondent/complainant was partly allowed and the opposite parties were directed to restore the mobile connection No.98884-0558 of the complainant immediately. They were further directed to withdraw the impugned bill dated 1.6.2010 to the extent of charging the services/calls and taxes and to pay to the complainant a sum of Rs.5,000/- in lieu of litigation expenses.
2. The facts, as stated in the complaint, are that the complainant was a subscriber of a prepaid mobile telephone connection No.98884-05580 of the opposite parties since February, 2007. His SIM card was misplaced about 7/8 months back. He approached opposite party No.2 and requested to issue him a new SIM card which was refused on the ground that new SIM card of the same number can only be issued, if he agreed to change the connection from prepaid to post paid, to which, he agreed.
