Mr. Balbir Singh, Judicial Member—This appeal has been preferred against the order dated March 8th, 2017 passed by District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Hisar (for short ‘the District Forum’).

2. Udey Chand (since deceased)-father of complainant-Sunil Kumar (appellant herein) during his life time was provided SBI Life Swadhan Insurance Policy bearing No. 09009335805 (Exhibit R-2) mentioning date of commencement as March 19th, 2013 and total sum assured as Rs. 15,00,000 by SBI Life Insurance Company Limited-Opposite Party No. 1 (respondent No. 1 herein). Udey Chand (hereinafter referred to as the “life assured”) died during the insurance period on June 24th, 2013. Thereafter, the complainant being nominee and son of the life assured submitted his insurance claim with the opposite party No. 1 which was repudiated on false and fictitious grounds that the life assured was having other insurance policy at the time of signing the proposal form (Exhibit R-1) and also gave wrong information regarding his annual income and occupation.
