ORDER :

Mr. Dhananjay A. Jog, Member-This Judgment and Order shall dispose of the Appeal filed under Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act arising out of Order dated 8.9.2017 in Consumer Complaint 28 of 2015 by District Consumer Forum, North Goa (henceforth, for brevity called ’Forum’).

2. Vide its above Order, the Forum dismissed the Complaint and imposed cost of Rs. 5000 on Complainants who hence now stand before us as Appellants.

3. The background in brief of the matter is that Appellants-a family of Husband, Wife and Daughter-came into contact with Respondent as an organizer of foreign tours; so introduced by their friend, Advocate Mr. B.D. Nazareth, Mapusa, who had, in the past, availed Respondent’s services. After discussions, Appellants booked a tour with Respondent to cover Hong Kong, Macau, Schengen and Bangkok at Rs. 80,000 each; the total cost for the three Appellants thus working out to Rs. 2,40,000. Appellants paid this amount in 3 cheques-two of Rs. 50,000 each and one of Rs. 1,40,000, as per cheque numbers and details furnished in this Appeal and in the Complaint.
