1. Rule returnable forthwith. With the consent of learned advocates for the respective parties, matter is taken up for final hearing today. Heard Ms. Mamta R. Vyas learned advocate appearing for the petitioner and Ms. Divyangna Jhala, learned AGP appearing for respondent State through video conferencing.

2. Ms. Vyas relies on an order dated 30.06.2020 passed by this court in SCA No. 6868 of 2020 and allied matters and submits that the issue involved in the present petition is squarely covered by the decision rendered by this court in SCA No.6868 of 2020 and allied matters. Relevant paras of the said decision read as under:

In these petitions, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the short question is whether the petitioners could have been sidelined for being appointed to the post of armed/unarmed police constable/Lokrakshak as per their merit with all consequential benefits.
