Heard Mr. B.P. Sahu, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Th. Ibohal, learned Advocate General, Manipur for the State respondents. The present application has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to rectify the wrong entry of date of birth of the petitioner in the Service Book which was a result of miscalculation and for setting aside the letter dated 15.01.2013 by which the request of the petitioner for correction of the date of birth was declined on the ground of delay.

According to the petitioner, in the Admit Card issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam for appearing in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 1969, the age of the petitioner is recorded as 15 years as on 1.3.1969. After passing the said examination, in the certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam, the age of the petitioner is also recorded as 15 years as on 1.3.1969. Accordingly, as per the matriculation certificate, it is very clear that the date of birth of the petitioner would be 1.3.1954.
