Statement of facts:
A suit for money was compromised in the Lok Adalath. In terms of the settlement an amount of Rs.5,25,000/- was to be paid within a period of 11 months from 10.05.2017. The amount was not paid. Thereupon Execution Petition was filed seeking execution of the compromise decree.The objection of the petitioner is that there is no decree liable to be executed. The objection is evidently unsustainable. In terms of Section 21 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, the award passed by the Lok Adalath is a decree and can be executed.
Finding of the court:
In terms of Section 21 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, the award passed by the Lok Adalath is a decree and can be executed.
Result : Civil Revision Petition dismissed.
