JUDGMENT :
The COVID-19 pandemic is challenging our collective calculus of uncertainty because there is no reference case for it in living memory.
2. Living in the face of this uncertainty ? or with it, as some may say ? is the defining theme today because the pandemic qualifies as a true outlier by any standard.
3. The “new normal” or “next normal” require confronting this uncertainty head on and converting it into decision making in every sphere.
4. The COVID-19 crisis erupted and unfolded with tremendous speed. In early March 2020, no one took it seriously. But a couple of weeks later, the outlook shifted profoundly. The absence of close historic parallels has exacerbated the current situation.
5. In its policy brief, titled “Education during COVID-19 and beyond” published in August 2020, the United Nations recorded that the pandemic has created largest disruption to education systems in the history of the world.
