JUDGMENT :
1. By way of impugned order passed by the learned Single Judge ex-parte without notice to the Government all that has been done is to issue direction to the State authorities to dispose of the representation of the petitioners in terms of the precedent law.
2. Reference was made to the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of State of Punjab and others v. Jagjit Singh and others [(2017) 1 SCC 148].
3. In our view, the learned Single Judge had required the Government to dispose of the representation of the petitioners.
4. There was no direction to decide the representation in a particular manner. The only observation made was to take into consideration the judicial precedent. Such observation also otherwise is innocuous. We may clarify that such representation had to be decided in accordance with law. Thus, no orders are required to be passed in this appeal.
5. We notice that the appeal has been filed with delay, upon which the State has also filed an application for condonation of delay. However, the entire period falls within the Corona related limitation moratorium period granted by the Supreme Court.
