1. Jagattar Singh, a resident of Village Kothe Netar Barnai, was murdered at his house while he was sleeping with his wife and two minor daughters on May 19, 1992 at about 10.30 p.m. Faiz Singh, PW-4, his father, too was injured by the assailants on the same day.

2. Eighteen persons, found involved in the incident by the police, were sent for trial of the Murder of Jagattar Singh and causing injuries to his father.

3. Acquitting others, learned Second Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, the trial Court, has convicted Sat Pal, Joginder Lal and Naresh Kumar, sentencing them to: -

(1) Imprisonment for life and a fine of Rs.5000/- under Section 302/34 RPC,

(2) Imprisonment for five years and a fine of Rs.1000/- under Section 460 RPC, and

(3) Imprisonment for two years and a fine of Rs.1000/- under Section 3/25 Arms Act.

4. Those convicted and sentenced vide Judgment of June 29, 2007 and Order of June 30, 2007, of the trial Court, have filed Criminal Appeal nos. 11/2007, 12/2007 and 13/2007 seeking their acquittal and setting aside of the judgment and order impugned in the appeals.
