1. Heard learned counsel for the appellant and learned A.S.G.I. representing CBI on the prayer for provisional bail on medical ground made through I.A. No. 6626 of 2018.
2. Appellant is convicted in connection with R.C. Case No. 68(A) of 1996 vide impugned judgment dated 24.01.2018 passed by Additional Judicial Commissioner-VII cum Special Judge (A.H.D.) CBI-1, Ranchi for the offence under Sections 120-B r/w Section 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 477-A of the Indian Penal Code r/w Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. He has been sentenced to undergo R.I. for 4 years and a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- in default of payment of fine, S.I. for 3 months under the aforesaid sections of I.P.C. He has also been sentenced to undergo R.I. for 4 years and a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- in default of payment of fine, S.I. for 3 months under the aforesaid section of P.C. Act. Both the sentences have been directed to run concurrently.
3. Prayer for provisional bail of the appellant on medical ground in another matter being Cr. Appeal (SJ) No. 2189 of 2017 has been considered today on the report of the Medical Board of RIMS furnished in the said case through letter dated 19.07.2018 bearing no. 1
