Heard the parties through video conferencing.
2. The appellant has preferred this appeal being aggrieved by the Judgment of conviction and Order of sentence dated 27.06.2019, passed by the learned Special Judge, C.B.I., Ranchi in R.C. No. 05(A)/2018-R whereby and where under the learned court below has held the appellant-accused guilty and convicted him for having committed the offences punishable under Section 7 as well as under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced him to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for a period of three years and fine of Rs.500/- and in case of default of payment of fine to undergo Simple Imprisonment for a period of one month for the offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. For the offence punishable under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, the appellant-accused was sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for a period of four years and fine of Rs.500/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one month. It was ordered that both the sentences shall run concurrently.
