Judgment :-

An important question of law as to whether in respect of appeals made under Section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Harijan Welfare Schemes Act, 1978, (hereinafter called "the Harijan Welfare Act"), Court Fee is to be paid under Section 51 of the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 (hereinafter called "the Court Fees Act") or under Article 3 Schedule II of the Court Fees Act, is involved in these revisions.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners in all these civil revision petitions as well as the learned Additional Advocate General representing the respondent have advanced elaborate arguments.

3.In order to decide the said question of law, it is necessary to refer to the relevant provisions of various Acts, viz., (i) Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Harijan Welfare Schemes Act, 1978, (ii) the Tamil Nadu Slum Areas (Improvement and Clearance) Act, 1971 (iii) the Tamil Nadu Slum Improvement (Acquisition of land) Act (IX of 1954), (Repealed by Tami Nadu Act XI of 1971) and (iv) Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955.
