1. The petitioner has come forward with this petition seeking for the relief of quashing the impugned order passed by the first respondent in proceedings R.No.65331/TA1/2007 dated 12.08.2009 and confirmed by the 2nd respondent in G.O. (2D)No.27, Home (Transport-II-A) Department dated 20.01.2010.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he is an engineering graduate in mechanical engineering and joined the service as Motor Vehicle Inspector, Grade-II, as selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and appointed on 10.02.1995. The petitioner was promoted as Motor Vehicle Inspector, Grade-I on 16.09.1999 and he was working as Motor Vehicle Inspector, Grade-I in the Regional Transport Office (East) at Tondiorpet. On 11.11.2005, a surprise inspection was conducted by the District Inspection Cell Officer along with some Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police officials. A report was submitted by the Inspection Cell Officer to the Transport Commissioner, pointing out certain lapses detected during the inspection.
