1. This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to direct the first respondent to produce the detenue, namely, Vasantha, aged about 27 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty.
2. The petitioner is the husband of the detenue. It has been alleged that the second respondent has abducted the detenue. Therefore, the petitioner has lodged a complaint with the first respondent and the said complaint had been registered as crime No. 967/2015, under Section 363 of I.P.C. Since no effective steps had been taken by the first respondent Police, the petitioner had filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.
3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, a status report had been filed by the first respondent Police, dated 4.2.2016, wherein it has been stated that the detenue had eloped with the second respondent and that the second respondent and the detenue are in hiding. However, it has been stated that necessary steps are being taken to trace the detenue and to take appropriate action, in accordance with law.
4. In such circumstances, we find no reason to grant the relief, as prayed for by the petitioner. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petitio
