The appellants are the accused 1 to 14 in Sessions Case No.83 of 2014 on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ariyalur. The trial Court framed charges under Sections 147, 148, 449 and 302 IPC against all the 14 accused. By judgement, dated 20.04.2016, the trial Court convicted all the 14 accused and sentenced them as detailed below:-
