Criminal Appeal No.833 of 2012 is filed against the Judgment dated 30.10.2012 passed in S.C.No.8 of 2006 by the learned Special Judge/The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvallur, thereby, the accused stood charged for offence punishable under Sections 7, 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The trial Court, by its Judgment dated 30.10.2012, in Special Case No.8 of 2006, the accused was found guilty and he was convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine of Rs.500/-, in default to undergo one month simple imprisonment for offence under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act and also convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and also to pay a fine of Rs.1000/-, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for one month for offence under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act. Aggrieved by the said verdict of the trial court, the accused has come forward with this criminal appeal challenging the judgment of conviction and sentence as stated above.
