1. It is averred by the plaintiff that it is a registered company and had obtained the sole and exclusive rights for dubbing/remaking into Telugu language the film ROJA in Cinemascope, written and directed by Thiru. Mani Rathnam and it had obtained the said rights from the second defendant, vide instrument dated 16.06.1992, as it is the original copyright owner in respect of the said picture. It is further stated by the plaintiff that they had got the sole exclusive rights for dubbing, remaking and exhibiting the said dubbed and remade version of the said picture from the second defendant for a consideration of Rs. 34,50,000/- for a period of 25 years from the date of the instrument on 16.06.1992 in respect of the areas, namely entire Andhra Pradesh, Ceded Districts (Rayalaseema), Nizam, Coastal Andhra and Orissa and by virtue of the fact that it has paid the entire consideration, it has become a limited copyright owner in respect of the Telugu version of the said picture in the aforementioned areas for a period of 25 years.
