1. The order of rejection, rejecting the claim of the writ petitioner for providing free electricity service connection for the agricultural purposes issued by the 4th respondent in proceedings dated 23.04.2018 is under challenge in the present writ petition.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is an agriculturists and performing cultivation for the past about 50 years. The petitioner owns the agricultural lands in S.No.504/23B of Koovagam Village, Formerly Senthurai Taluk, Presently Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District.
3. The petitioner registered his name in No.28/19.04.1996 for providing free electricity service connection for irrigation purposes. However, the case of the writ petitioner was not considered on account of some mistake occurred in the application with reference to the Survey Number of the property belongs to the writ petitioner. Thus, the writ petitioner is constrained to move the present writ petition.
4. The learned Standing counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents state that admittedly the writ petitioner had initially submitted an application seeking electricity service connection for agricultural purposes. However,
