M. Dhandapani, J.

1. The appellants are the accused in Spl. Case No. 5 of 2004 and they were charged and tried before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Special Judge, Tiruvannamalai, for various offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act (for short 'PC Act') and on being found guilty, they were convicted and sentenced as under:-

A-1	U/s. 7 & 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(d) of PC Act	Convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/-, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one month.
A-1	U/s. 201 IPC	Convicted and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one month.
A-2	U/s. 12 & 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(d) of PC Act	Convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/-, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one month.
A-2	U/s. 201 IPC	Convicted and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one month.
